Following the separate meetings between Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith and NPP presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa respectively at the Borella Archbishop’s official residence a few days ago, It is now to be seen that SLPP presidential candidate Namal Rajapaksa has also met Cardinal earlier today.

During the meeting with Rajapaksa, the Archbishop stressed on the need for an independent commission to investigate the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.

Rajapaksa is reported to have agreed on the establishment of an independent judicial commission on the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks of 2019, which killed nearly 270 people.
