Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s bail application continued in court today, with his counsel highlighting his poor health and family circumstances.

The lawyer informed the court that Wickremesinghe is suffering from multiple health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. He further noted that Wickremesinghe’s wife is battling cancer and that the former president is her primary caregiver.

The defense urged the court to consider these humanitarian grounds when deciding on his bail application. However, the matter has been further delayed, prolonging uncertainty over Wickremesinghe’s release.
