The newly acquired Airbus A330-200 aircraft by SriLankan Airlines entered Sri Lanka’s airspace a short while ago; First wide-body aircraft join SriLankan Airlines family after 08 years.

Arriving from Paris, France, the aircraft reached Sri Lanka this morning.
The new addition to SriLankan Airlines’ fleet will be used for both long-haul and short-haul destinations, strengthening the airline’s global connectivity.
A large crowd gathered at the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport to witness the aircraft’s first arrival.




After a low-altitude flyover along the Colombo coastline, the aircraft received a Ceremonial Water Salute at BIA.
Moreover, SriLankan Airlines Chairman said that currently, including this new aircraft, the SriLankan fleet consists of 23 aircraft, which are 10 wide-body and 13 narrow-body aircraft.
