Why these tech titans joined Trump in Saudi Arabia

A cavalcade of tech and business leaders was in Saudi Arabia’s capital for an investment summit presided over by President Donald Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

US President Trump was received at the Royal Court by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. CEOs from top US companies — including Elon Musk — are also in attendance, as the Trump administration seeks foreign investment and expanded business ties.

US President Donald Trump arrived in Saudi Arabia on his latest overseas visit. He was greeted with an official ceremony, joined by adviser Elon Musk and many tech leaders. The visit included meetings, lunch, and an economic event.

Traditional Welcome Ceremony

Trump’s motorcade entered the Royal Court with white Arabian horses on each side. Saudis on horseback carried American and Saudi flags. The president received a 21-gun salute. Six Saudi F-15 fighter jets flew beside Air Force One as it landed. The ceremony was held at the Royal Court before lunch.

Business and Tech Leaders

Trump attended a lunch inside the palace. The event was joined by Saudi government members and business executives. Adviser Elon Musk was present. Also attending were BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, and others.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, Palantir CEO Alex Karp and Google CIO Ruth Porat were there. Blackstone Group CEO Stephen Schwarzman and Coca-Cola CEO James Quincey joined as well. LinkedIn Executive Chairman Reid Hoffman and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez were part of the event too.
