How to use Govpay? | Sri Lanka is ready for Cashless Transactions in Future!

The GovPay platform, payments for all services related to 16 government institutions can be processed from today.

Starting from April, an additional 30 government institutions are planned to be integrated into the platform. Moving forward, there is an ambition to unify all government institutions under this system. Currently, 12 state and private banks have already joined the platform.

GovPay enables citizens and businesses to securely and conveniently make payments for various government-related transactions, including taxes, fines, utility bills, educational fees, and other service charges, through banks and digital wallets.

Government plans minimise use of cash in Sri Lanka!

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that his government intends to reduce cash usage nationwide, stating that digitization will be key to achieving this.

“We expect to minimise the use of cash in our country. To achieve this, digitisation will play a vital role,” the President said.
