Postal voting begins for Sri Lanka’s 2024 Parliamentary Election!

Postal voting for the 2024 General Election commenced today (Oct 30).

Officials at election offices and District Secretariats, and the Police will mark their ballots during office hours today. 

The National Election Commission says it has provided an opportunity to mark postal votes on the 1st and 4th of November, as well.

State employees who fail to cast their votes during this period have been allocated 07th and 08th November to cast their votes. 

Voters have been requested to carry documents such as the National Identity Card, Valid Driving License, Valid Passport, Temporary Identity Card issued by the Election Commission, or the Information Verification Letter issued by the Department of Registration of Persons for their identification during postal voting.
